The bad news is that the tech giant Meta just increased the prices of Meta Quest 2 to $100 after 2 years.
According to Meta the 128GB storage Meta Quest 2 will cost $399.99 (previously $299), while the 256GB model will now retail for $499.99 starting from 01 August 2022.
In order to continue investing in moving the VR industry forward for the long term, we are adjusting the price of Meta Quest 2 headsets to $399.99 (128GB) and $499.99 (256GB) starting on 8/1/22.

According to a recent blog post by Meta, they told that the reason for such a price hike is:
Meta cites inflation as one of the reasons for the price increase writing, “The costs to make and ship our products have been on the rise,” . “By adjusting the price of Quest 2, we can continue to grow our investment in groundbreaking research and new product development that pushes the VR industry to new heights.
Just to know due to increased inflation Amazon prime and Netflix have also raised their subscription prices recently.
The Good News is that according to Meta:
People who purchase a new Meta Quest 2 from August 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022 and activate the device before January 31, 2023 using an account that does not already have Beat Saber enabled will be able to download Beat Saber at no additional cost for 14 days following activation.
