Sony just released the system software update 9.51 for all models of PlayStation 4.
But, this update is causing a lot of trouble for the gamers just like the previous one that was released a couple of weeks ago.
Notably, some performance issues like games only launching after restarting the PS4 once, DNS issues while connecting to the server, and, for some, a completely unresponsive brick PS4.
What’s NEW?
This update was meant to fix issues caused by users from the last update as consoles had become unusable after that update.
PS4 Update 9.51 Changelog
Version 9.51
This system software update improves system performance.
Version 9.50
In Party, we’ve updated the following:
- Now when you start a party, you can select either an open party or a closed party.
- An open party lets your friends join without an invite. Friends of party members can also join. A closed party is only for players you invite.
- You can now individually adjust the voice chat volume of each player in a party.
- We’ve added Ukrainian language support.
We recommend all the PS4 owners not to update to firmware 9.51 and wait for a bit to see how it performs for others if the last one caused issues for you as this user:
There is no official statement from Sony about these issues and their fix yet but we hope that would be sooner rather than later.
