WWDC 2022 – All You Need To Know

Worldwide Developer Conference is just a week away,

So, are you ready for some new Apple products and software features?

On June 6, the event will take place at Apple Park in an all-online format. The in-person event is only for some students and developers.

In the last two years due to COVID, the event was streamed online, although the event will still be streamed online, proof of a negative COVID-19 test is required for the people attending the in-person event, which should be taken 3 days before the event.

Apple stated:

We’re holding a special all-day experience at Apple Park on June 6 to kick off WWDC22. Gather with others in the developer community to watch the Keynote and the Platforms State of the Union videos alongside Apple engineers and experts, explore the all-new Developer Center, and so much more. We can’t wait to connect in person

This celebration marks the strat of an inspiring week of sessions, labs, and lounges- all online and with more activites than ever.

And once again, Apple will host a swift student challenge.

Where Can We Watch?

WWDC event is starting from 6th June and will end on 10th June. The Keynote on Monday, 6th June will start at 10 am and the Platform State of the Union at 1 am in California.

Apple will stream the opening keynote on its website, Apple.com, the Apple TV, the Apple Developer App, the Apple Developer Website, and YouTube.

Softwares:

Well, it’s for certain that at WWDC Apple will reveal the details of upcoming features for the iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, Mac, Apple Watch, and HomePod. This software is further tested out by the developers before the launch.

As far as we’ve heard, nothing major is coming in this update but some new apps and features will be seen.

A software feature in iPhone 14 pro line is coming which will enable the always-on display and a punch-hole display design in at least one iPhone.

An updated version of the Health App which will feature medicine management means you’ll be able to scan the pills bottle in the app, sleep tracking functionality, and women’s health features.

A new feature for Apple Pay called “Buy Now Pay Later” means you’ll be able to pay in installments for the Apple Pay Purchases.

And more features like:

  1. Car crash detection
  2. Door detection
  3. Emergency satellite features
  4. Physical and motor accessibility
  5. Live captions
  6. Changes in lock screen including widget-like capabilities of wallpaper

iPadOS 16:

A feature most likely to arrive in iPadOS 16 is “Multitasking mode” which will enable the “freely resizeable windows“.

Sadly, tvOs is not getting many feature updates, some more Home-Kit-related elements are introduced.

watchOS 9:

A new power-saving mode that helps in reducing the amount of battery life. To limit the Apple watch functionality, a new “Power Reserve” mode is included.

An updated version of atrial fibrillation, measuring over a specific period to know how often a person is in the state of atrial fibrillation.

Hardware:

Rumors are that Apple might introduce some of its upcoming hardware at WWDC22.

Mac Pro:

Most chances are Apple will reveal Mac Pro at WWDC 2022 which is made up of the most powerful Apple Silicon Chips. Rumors say that Apple can be working on combining the two M1 chips with UltraFusion die-to-die interconnect to create the M1 Ultra.

AR/VR Headset:

Apple is working on this AR/VR headset for some time now, endeavoring to release the Headset since 2019. But it got delayed due to the issues like camera problems, overheating, and issues with the software.

As far as reports say, the headset will be running on software called Reality Operation System (rOS).

It is suggested to have features like mixed reality, advanced processors, hand tracking, and gesture control which also hopes the possibility door of writing in the thin air with the virtual keyboard.

It is believed to have a curved eyeshade and soft netting that can easily fit your face.
